Types vs records
A milestone type is the kind of thing you mark (Baptism, Membership, Child dedication). A milestone is the date it happened for one person. Core admins define types under Core → People records → Milestones. Editors record that one happened on a profile.
Add a type
Give it a name. Keep the list short and stable — “Baptism” not “Baptism 2024 evening service.”
Record one on a person
Open the profile, add a milestone, pick the type and the date. It shows on the profile and can be used in a sheet (“baptised this year”).
Do not use notes instead
A note cannot be listed or mailed. If you will ever want “everyone who finished the membership class,” it is a milestone.
